Dryness, itchiness, irritation—winter can wreak all kinds of havoc on your skin. (Just look what it did to the White Walkers.) But you don’t have to go through the season feeling miserable. A few simple swaps can protect your skin and replenish some much-needed moisture.
1. Skip hot showers
They may seem like a good idea, but steamy showers only end up dehydrating your skin further. Opt for warm, not hot, showers—and try to keep them on the shorter side.
2. Go for gentler cleansers
Bar soaps and shower gels can be too drying this time of year. Try a cream or oil-based
3. Switch soufflés for richer moisturizers
Body Soufflé might be perfect for warmer weather, but freezing temps demand something heavier. Switch to a cream moisturizer, like our Body Butter, which combines cocoa butter, shea butter, argan and avocado oils for more concentrated hydration. (And if you’re wondering “what’s a body soufflé?”, it’s a whipped, lightweight moisturizer that absorbs quickly. The whipped part is what makes it a soufflé!)
4. Spring for solid perfume
Spray-on and rollerball fragrances are usually alcohol-based, which can add to that dry, irritated feeling. Try solid perfume instead, which is wax- and oil-based.
5. Give body oils a try
